An ORDINANCE forbidding and prohibiting gaming and gambling and providing for the punishment thereof, in Sweet Home, Linn County, Oregon.

The PEOPLE of the City of Sweet Home do ordain as follows:

Section 1. 

It is hereby forbidden and declared unlawful for any person to deal, play, or carry on, open or cause to opened, or conduct either as owner, proprietor, or employee, whether for hire or not, any game of faro, monte, roulette, poker, brag, bluff, thaw, or any banking or any other game played with cards, dice, or any other device, whether the same be played for money, checks, credits, or any other repesentative of value, within the corporate limits of the city of Sweet Home, Linn County, Oregon

Any person violating any of the provisions of this Ordinance shall, upon conviction thereof before the Recorder's Court, be punished by a fine of not less than ten dollars nor more than one hundred dollars; or by imprisonment in the City Jail not less than five days nor more than twenty five days, or by both such fine and imprisonment.

Section 2. 

This Ordinance shall take effect and become operative thirty days after its passage by the City Council and approval by the Mayor, and shall be posted according to law.

Passed and enacted by the City Council this 28 day of January, 1908. 

Approved by the Mayor this 30 day of January, 1908.
