A RESOLUTION CONCERNING FIREWORKS DISPLAY AT FOSTER DAM.

WHEREAS, on July 12, 1997, from 7:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. a fireworks display will be held at Foster Dam and Lake; and

WHEREAS, additional parking spaces are needed to accommodate the expected crowds at these events; and

WHEREAS, the areas referred to hereinafter are currently posted as no parking areas; and

WHEREAS, Sweet Home Municipal Code 10.04.030 provides that the City Council may, by resolution, establish or alter traffic and parking control;

NOW, THEREFORE, the City of Sweet Home does resolve as follows:

From 7:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. on July 12, 1997 traffic and parking regulations shall be kept in effect as follows:

1. The South side of Highway 20, starting at a point opposite the dam access road and extending East to the City limits, and the North side of Highway 20 starting at the East City limits and extending west to a point opposite Willamette Industries, Foster Division's West gate (approximately 50 yards East of railroad trestle) shall be made available for parking for the scheduled events.

2. Appropriate signs, signals, coverings or other markings shall be installed to carry out the provisions of this resolution, and shall become effective immediately upon the installation of such signs, signals, coverings or other markings.

3. All motor vehicle laws shall be complied with and obeyed. All laws pertaining to parking at or near fire hydrants, driveways and yellow curb areas shall be adhered to and no vehicles shall be allowed to park in a way that would restrict sight distances for drivers entering the highway at any side road.

4. The map attached hereto shall be used as an Exhibit to facilitate this resolution.
