Details
A RESOLUTION CONCERNING THE OREGON JAMBOREE STREET & PARK CLOSURES.
WHEREAS, on August 4, 5 and 6, 2000, the Oregon Jamboree will hold a concert requiring street and park closures; and
WHEREAS, traffic patterns and parking issues need to be addressed to accommodate the events; and
WHEREAS, Sweet Home Municipal Code 10.04.030 provides that the City Council may, by resolution, establish or alter traffic and parking control;
WHEREAS, Sweet Home Municipal Code 12.12.010 and Sweet Home Charter Section 2 provide that the City can limit park use and has the power to conduct municipal affairs;
NOW, THEREFORE, the City of Sweet Home does resolve as follows:
Traffic and park regulations shall be kept in effect as follows:
A. From 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. on August 4 and 5 and from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. on August 6 - 18th Avenue from Kalmia Street to Grape Street, 14th Avenue from Kalmia Street to Grape Street, and 15th Avenue from Kalmia Street to the end shall be closed and blocked off to through vehicular traffic at the direction of the Chief of Police or his designated representative; PROVIDED, residential traffic, with no alternate routes, will be allowed ingress and egress.
B. From 11:00 a.m. on August 3 through 11:59 p.m. on August 6 Sankey Park shall be closed to all persons except those authorized by the Oregon Jamboree and City employees on official business.
C. Appropriate signs or other markings shall be installed to carry out the provisions of this resolution, and shall become effective immediately upon the installation of such signs or other markings.
