A RESOLUTION IN SUPPORT OF THE 2023-2025 HOUSING PLANNING ASSISTANCE GRANT APPLICATION TO THE OREGON DEPARTMENT OF LAND CONSERVATION AND DEVELOPMENT FORA HOUSING PRODUCTION STRATEGY
WHEREAS, during the 2019 legislative session, the Oregon legislature passed House Bill 2003, requires cities with a population of greater than 10,000 to adopt a Housing Production Strategy; and
WHEREAS, the population of the City of Sweet Home recently passed 10,000; and
WHEREAS, the legislature has provided assistance to communities to implement the requirements of House Bill 2003; and
WHEREAS, the City of Sweet Home adopted an updated Housing Needs Analysis this year; and
WHEREAS, under the City of Sweet Home is required to develop a Housing Production Strategy by the end of 2024.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City of Sweet Home does resolve as follows:
Section 1. The City of Sweet Home City Council supports the request for funding assistance in Exhibit A and agrees to provide a grant match in the form of staff wages and salaries.
Section 2. This resolution is effective immediately upon its enactment by the City Council.
PASSED by the Council and approved by the Mayor this 25th day of July, 2023.
