Resolution No. 22 for 2024 - Modifying "Stop" Signs at Airport Road & 47th Avenue

A RESOLUTION REMOVING “STOP” SIGNS AT LONG STREET AND 47^TH AVENUE.

WHEREAS, Sweet Home Municipal Code §10.04.030 states that the City Council may, by resolution, establish or alter traffic controls which shall become effective upon the installation of appropriate signs, signals, or other markings; and

WHEREAS, the City Council previously approved the installation of “Stop” signs at various intersections through Resolution No. 8 for 2024, including Additional “Stop” signs at Long Street and 47^th Avenue; and

WHEREAS, the City Council through consensus determined it necessary to revisit the placement of the “Stop” sign at Long Street and 47^th Avenue;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SWEET HOME

That the additional “Stop” signs previously approved regulating traffic at Long Street and 47^th Avenue shall be removed at the northeast and southwest corners and staff shall develop a consistent policy to evaluate future requests for traffic control devices.

This resolution shall serve as an addendum to Resolution No. 8 for 2024 and shall become effective immediately upon passage by the City Council and signature of the Mayor.
