Youth Advisory Council
The Youth Advisory Council (YAC) advises the Sweet Home City Council on issues that affect youth in our community. They provide a primary link for youth to the government, businesses, and the entire community on a variety of subjects and opportunities. For more information about the YAC review the YAC Bylaws.
Membership: The YAC consists of seven members representing youth from grades 7 to 12. Terms of committee members run from July 1st to June 30th of each year and all positions are appointed by the City Council. Two positions hold two-year terms; the remainder hold one-year terms. To apply, turn in a completed application to the City Manager's office at 3225 Main Street, Sweet Home, Oregon. Applications can also be e-mailed to cpretty@sweethomeor.gov.
YAC FOCUS: The YAC has been focusing on three areas this year. Community Health, Community Pride, and Community Prosperity. The group has been meeting to discuss how they can work on all three focal points and help make Sweet Home a better place.
