Shooting Accidental, Self Inflicted
On March 5th, 2020 at approximately 12:52 p.m., the Sweet Home Police Department received information from a concerned citizen who had observed a male lying face down under a vehicle in the driveway of a residence and not moving. Officers responded to the area of the 100 block of Holley Road, Sweet Home, Linn County, Oregon and located a deceased male in the driveway.
Sweet Home Police Department Detectives responded to assist with the investigation. The Linn County Deputy Medical Examiner also responded to the scene.
The male was identified as Robert Fagan, 65 YOA, from Sweet Home. Mr. Fagan was determined to have died from an accidental self-inflicted gunshot wound to a lower extremity. The firearm involved was located at the scene near the deceased.
The City of Sweet Home wishes to express our sincere condolences to the family during this difficult time and asks everyone in the community to support the grieving family and friends of Mr. Fagan.
The investigation is on-going and anyone with information is asked to call Sweet Home Police Detective Keenan Martin at 541-367-5181.
