Sweet Home Flood Response Efforts
SWEET HOME, Ore. December 20, 2020, 11:55 am — In the past 24 hours, over 3" of rain fell on the Sweet Home area. Our crews have been out since 7:30 am working to unclog culverts and drainage ditches. We set up two (2) sandbag locations for the residents and property owners of Sweet Home. Sand and bags to make sandbags are available at the City Hall front parking lot at 3225 Main Street and in the Library Parking Lot located at 13th Ave & Kalmia Street. Continue to prepare as the forecast for Monday & Tuesday shows more rain is on its way.
Steps to take:
- Check on your neighbors.
- If you have a plugged storm drain or standing water on the road, please report it to Public Works (541) 367-6359. If you can not get through, leave a message or contact police dispatch (541) 367-5181.
- Volunteers: head to the city's sandbag locations to make sandbags for our community. Please bring your gear & shovels.
This situation in our city is another time to rally around our neighbors and be the Sweet Home we all know and love.
We will keep you posted on the community's needs & efforts.
