Coronavirus (COVID-19) Update - 13

SWEET HOME, Ore. March 26, 2020, 5:30 p.m.— At the time of this press release, there are no reported COVID-19 cases within Sweet Home. Linn County COVID-19 cases are now listed at 26 with the overall Oregon count at 316. 

We continue to encourage residents to take the necessary precautions to protect themselves and their loved ones. 

  • Stay home as much as possible (kids, too.)
  • Go out only for essentials (groceries, medical care.)
  • Drop food off to neighbors who can’t go out.
  • Wash your hands with soap and warm water for 20 seconds.
  • Do not touch your eyes, mouth, nose, or face with unwashed hands.
  • Practice social distancing of 6 feet.
  • Exercise outside (hiking, biking) with members of your household only if you can be 6 feet apart.
  • Call your primary care provider or, if you do not have a primary care provider, your local urgent care if you have any symptoms including a fever, shortness of breath, and cough.

Our city staff continue to work diligently for our community while mitigating their risk of exposure. 

  • Finance/Utility Billing: CLOSED to walk-in's. Water service turn-on's or turn-off's can be done electronically or by picking up the application from the front of City Hall. Utility payments may be made via mail, city hall dropbox or online. Questions can be directed to (541) 367-5128.
  • Police: OPEN normal business hours.​ We have suspended public fingerprinting and animal complaint responses. We request people to limit their visit to the lobby to emergency situations. We are offering prescription medication pick-up/delivery to vulnerable 65+. Details HERE 
  • Public Works: The team continues to work on projects across the city. They have staggered shifts & lunch breaks along with implementing one staff member per vehicle and will practice “Social Distancing” while working to limit contact. 
  • Community & Economic Development: CLOSED to walk-in's. The Building Program is processing various applications & inspection requests online, via phone or email. Questions can be directed to (541) 367-7993. The Planning Division is handling applications via email.
