Sweet Home Librarian Announces Retirement
SWEET HOME, Ore, January 5, 2021 — After nine years of devoted service as Library Services Director of the City of Sweet Home, Rose Peda announced her plans to retire on January 15th, 2021.
Rose Peda joined the City of Sweet Home after over 14 years' experience in public library services. During her time at the Sweet Home Library, she obtained numerous grants surpassing $115,000, oversaw the connecting our library to the Linn Libraries Consortium, established a collection of Little Libraries near our elementary schools, and organized numerous enrichment events.
City Manager Ray Towry said, "Rose has given her heart and soul to the community through her dedicated service at the library. She inherited a very difficult financial situation and through hard work has been able to set the library up for success in future years. She is an active Rotarian as well, volunteering for various events that benefit the community. Rose has given her time and talents to this community for almost a decade."
A farewell event will be held at 11:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. on January 15th at Sweet Home City Hall's front parking lot. All friends, coworkers, and well-wishers are welcome to attend.
