Sweet Home Public Library Announces Changes
SWEET HOME, Ore. February 22, 2022 — On February 22, 2022, the Sweet Home City Council approved a resolution to permanently eliminate overdue fines on library materials.
Eliminating overdue fines is our way of removing any reading barrier to help increase childhood literacy and improve library access for community members who need the resources the most. Fines can potentially be an obstacle that disproportionately impacts people without the means to pay. Removing these fines (while still requiring the items to be returned) will allow more people to enjoy our materials for education, enrichment, and inspiration. Patrons will continue to be charged for lost or damaged items. We encourage patrons to bring back materials on time to make them available to others who would like to borrow them.
Our library will expand the hours they are open to the public.
Hours Open to the Public
- Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday 10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.
- Friday & Saturday 12:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Curbside Pickup
We will continue to provide curbside pickup during the hours listed below to serve our more vulnerable patrons.
- Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday 10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.
- Friday & Saturday 12:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
