Sweet Home's Autumn Tree of the Year: Two trees were selected as Sweet Home's Autumn Tree of the Year and include the stately Elizabeth Maple with deep red-gold fall leaves, that stands at the corner of the Post Office on 13th Avenue & Long Street and a beautiful yellow maple at Key Bank located on 10th Avenue & Main Street. Sweet Home residents voted for their favorite fall colors at this years Harvest Festival and the Tree Commission tallied the votes which were evenly split between these two distinct trees.
Sweet Home was selected as Oregon's Tree City of the Year for 2012. The Tree Commission planted a bigleaf maple tree along SW Main Street in celebration of Sweet Home's 25th year as a Tree City USA.
