2021 Streetscape Plan

Artist's rendering of future Festival Street.

In 2020, the City Council set a goal to develop a Downtown Streetscape and Parking Plan. The plan was developed with the input of the community and the City Council throughout 2021, and was officially adopted in March 2022. The streetscape is everything located within the public right-of-way: streets, sidewalks, trees and landscaping, streetlights, signs, public artwork, plazas, etc. The City believes that by doing its part to improve the downtown streetscape, private business activity will follow, increasing activity in the downtown, and making it a more pleasant place to visit. The plan includes future conversion of 13th Avenue to Sweet Home's Festival Street, which will prioritize walkability and encourage residents and visitors to spend time downtown and enjoy a vibrant corridor full of art, music, retail, food, and the best of Sweet Home culture.
