Investigations
The Investigations Division consists of one full-time position that investigates Person/Property Crimes and Narcotics Crimes. The Detective is under the direct supervision of the Chief of Police.
Person/Property Crimes investigations may involve complex crimes that often require several hours, days, weeks even months to finish. These cases include homicides, robberies, sexual assaults, internet crimes, serious assaults, identity theft, criminal racketeering, burglaries and any other crime that may require time-intensive investigation. The Detective works closely with patrol, other agencies, the District Attorney's Office and the community
Narcotics Enforcement involves the investigation of drug related cases. These cases often include the investigation of Manufacturing and Delivery of drugs such as Methamphetamine, Heroin, prescription medication, and Marijuana. The Detective works closely with other members of the Linn Interagency Narcotics Enforcement (LINE) as well as the Drug Enforcement Administration.
Can You ID ME? On occasion we will post surveillance images in an effort to identify a suspect or witness. This is one of the tools our department uses to assist in solving cases.
